Featured Success Couple: Hadley and Andy

Hadley and Andy Match.com Success Couple

We had our first date at Alivia’s (our rehearsal dinner location), and spent time together every single day after that. Our dogs met on our second date which would have been a deal breaker if they didn’t get along. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Jeff and Kimberly

Dear Match.com,

Honestly I can’t believe that Jeff & I became connected but I am incredibly happy we did!!! Here’s my story: I subscribed to match.com in June of 2010. When I filled out my profile, I entered 50 miles as the farthest distance, along with my detailed profile… (Jeff lives almost a 100 miles from my doorstep but we’ll get to that!). I went on about 5-6 “first dates,” some nice gentlemen, some not, either way, no matches. I had 2 weeks left on my subscription and was ready to throw in the towel. That morning, I received a “Daily 5” in my inbox. I would always look over them but had NEVER once checked any of the boxes indicating my interest. Well, I saw Jeff’s photo and was VERY taken by it! I proceeded to read his profile and really LIKED what I saw. 🙂 Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Lacie and Ellis

I always said, “Those dating sites are stupid. Who needs those things?” Laughed every time I saw the commercial.

I had just moved back to my hometown in Mississippi. I didn’t know anyone after being away for a few years. Out of boredom, I suddenly had the urge to give the free trial a run and see how it went for me on match.com. I really didn’t have any hopes to meet anyone but during the free trial, you only get so many features for free. No way was I paying to meet someone online. That’s what I thought. I’d met only about 2 people and in my first week something told me to just buy a month membership, what would it hurt. So, I did. I kept coming across this one profile. Of course I’d read it a few times and move on because he lived too far away, but something always drew me back there. A few days in, I received a wink from that somewhat intriguing person and thought, “Ya know what, I’ll wink back just to see what happens next”. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Amy and Chad

When people ask where we met I am proud to say “On Match.com.” Yes, it can happen!

Chad and I met at a local Mexican restaurant on a Saturday afternoon for margaritas. I had been on Match off and on for a few years and had met some nice men and even had a couple of relationships. So when I found myself single again I thought I would try Match again. Chad had only been on Match for a month or so. I am actually the one who contacted him first. I had always found that when I did customized searches I found more of the men that interested me. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Lauren and Ron

We shouldn’t have even met online through match. I was hesitant to try an online dating site, but a friend convinced me to put up a profile. After many emails and winks, I finally received an email from someone that really caught my eye. He had a great sense of humor and seemed extremely genuine. He didn’t show up in any of my match picks, but that was because his age was one year older than my range that I had picked. He happened to notice my picture in the “New to Match” section.  Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Elizabeth and Joel

Joel: I was on the site in Portland before deciding to temporarily move to Phoenix to train for triathlons. A few days after I moved, I switched my profile to the Phoenix area and searched for matches. It was late at night so instead of drafting emails to potential dates, I looked at four people’s profiles that looked interesting and decided I would email them the next morning.

Elizabeth: I was one of four people that Joel wanted to contact. I saw that he looked at my profile and I loved his, so I sent him in email. In that first email, I briefly introduced myself and asked him about “Blue Like Jazz,” a book that he had recently read, which happens to be one of my favorites. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Dave and Christa

I actually saw Dave over five years before I met him on match.com. I was a nurse in the ICU, and he was a doctor. I never said hello because I was too shy, but I thought he was very attractive and had a kind smile.

Five years later and after law school, multiple relationships, and moving to a different city, I decided to take a look at match.com, not knowing what to expect. I at first did not sign up to be a member; I just took a look at singles in my area. And upon perusing through, there he was – Dave’s smiling headshot. I joined instantly, but did not put up a picture. I sent him an email, introducing myself asking him if he would like to go out to dinner.

He didn’t write me back for two weeks. When he did, I was elated. Every time he emailed me, it made my day. On our first date, we both wore the same color blue t-shirts and blue jeans. We were inseparable ever since that day. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Heather and Billy

Believe it or not, Billy and I were high school prom dates back in 2002!  While Billy went to a different high school than me, he was a friend of a friend and was a perfect gentleman by agreeing to escort me to my senior prom.  We didn’t know much about each other and never dated after that.   Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Gunnar and Christin

We had both only been on the site for a short while when we connected. We were both giving it a shot to try something new. Let’s face it, you don’t meet your future wife or husband in the grocery store! As much as we’d all like it to be that easy, it’s not. Meeting them in the bar isn’t all that appealing either when you’ve done a little growing up and figured out what you want in life. Continue reading

Featured Success Couple: Adam and Angela

I hadn’t been on match.com for very long and only went on a couple dates. One thing that I tried to be true to was to make each email unique. The first email that I sent to Angela simply read “I absolutely love the way you described me in your summary of what you’re looking for.” Angela was ready to give up on match.com but took the advice of one of her friends and messaged me back. After exchanging a few emails and agreed to meet one night for drinks. We instantly clicked (from my perspective) and decided to go out again and again and again and again…  Continue reading
