As summer fades, Match.com reveals that more singles than ever used online dating at Match.com to find love this summer. On the heels of the best summer ever in Match.com’s 15-year history – with 33.5% more winks and emails compared to summer of 2009 – the largest online dating site is today unveiling the data on the cities where singles are the most fervent in their search for romance.

Miami is the city where the heat is on. According to the data analyzing online activity between June and August, Miami singles winked, emailed and connected with other Miami singles more than any other city. The East and West Coasts ranked high overall with some of the most popular cities for online dating activity, including:  New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Boston and San Diego. 

For those who missed out on love this summer, don’t worry – Labor Day is historically one of the most active days online. Included below are the most active cities looking for love this summer based on research from Match.com.

Top 10 Cities for Online Dating in Summer 2010:

   1. Miami, FL

   2. New York, NY

   3. Los Angeles, CA

   4. Chicago, IL

   5. Washington, DC

   6. Dallas, TX

   7. San Diego, CA

   8. Phoenix, AZ

   9. Boston, MA

  10. Houston, TX

Additional cities with high activity included Providence, RI; Philadelphia, PA; Minneapolis, MN; Pittsburgh, PA; San Jose, CA.
